About Us
Business
History
The Torre family’s experience in the refuse and
recycling business is proud to be in its fourth generation of
operation. Our business
started in the 1920’s in the south end of the City of Seattle and
has since covered many communities throughout the Northwest.
In the early days of our family’s business garbage, was
collected from homes and businesses by horse and wagon.
Obviously the industry has seen many changes over the past 80
years and we have continually evolved with it.
Since our family began collecting garbage we have
serviced several communities in Washington and Idaho. They include
the City of Seattle, the City of Mercer Island, the City of Renton,
the City of Kent, the City of Vancouver, the City of Deer Park, the
City of Lewiston, and Nez Perce County.
In addition to municipal contracts, we have owned and
operated several G-permits across the state of Washington.
We currently provide refuse and recycling service
under several municipal contracts.
They include the Town of Reardan, the City of Davenport, the
City of Deer Park, the City of Lewiston, and Nez Perce County.
We also own and operate G-permits 104 and 199. The G-permit is issued by the Washington Utilities and
Transportation Commission and provides hauling rights by geographic
region. Under those
permits we provide service to all of Lincoln County, a majority of
Adams County, a small portion of Whitman County, and the eastern
portion of Spokane County.
In addition to providing hauling services, we own and
operate a transfer station. Our
transfer station has operated since 1983 and is located in the heart
of the Spokane Valley. At
this facility we not only dump and transfer solid waste, we also
sort and bale recyclable materials.
Currently, paper, cardboard, aluminum, steel, tin, wire,
copper, brass, plastic, building wrap, carpet padding, and wood are
sorted and sent to market.
Our experience in the refuse and recycling industry
throughout the Northwest is second to none.
Our company has the equipment and experience necessary to
fulfill all your refuse and recycling needs today and into the
future. Our experience has provided service to hundreds of thousands
of people over the years and we look forward to servicing your
community.
